This Bass Kit is Amazing, I have built it for a mate's Birthday Present.
The quality was already fantastic. I did a black dye first to get into the grain then sanded it back, Then done a Purple & a Red dye, Then done many coats of Tru-Oil.
Ended up looking more Red / Brown. But look's amazing. Then I added his favorite Cartoon Character on the back lol. I done it with Acrylic Brush Markers, And had printed out the picture I wanted to do, then cut it out to use like a stencil. So the artwork is still kinda dodgy. But i'm not an artist so that's as good as I'm doing it lol
My mate has played Bass for many years, So i'm going to let him put the string's on it. lol

Had a lot of fun building this kit. Has everything I needed with only a small angle issue with the neck cutout that I was not entirely able to rectify, but due to the adjustability of the bridge and tailpieces is not an issue.
Decided to clear seal the kit as the colour was interesting and something I haven't see in a 'Les Paul' before.
Recommendations to Blackbeard crew - proper wiring diagram should be attached as the pots are not (in my case) wired as per most instructions (tone vs. volume pots - A vs. B). Diagram on the site is confusing due to overlapping wires that should not be shown as such.
Wire colours in the wiring section of the instructions change randomly so don't make sense (Yellow becomes Black). A proof re-read should be done from time to time.
None of this detracts from a fun project of learning how to solder and build. Google is your friend and very happy with the end result :-)

I'm super happy with the kit

Guitar kit arrived in good time from ordering. All parts seem to be of reasonable quality and neck is smooth and straight. Have not yet completed the kit as I am French Polishing the body which takes time. Once completed and assembled I will be in a better position to assess neck, bridge and string clearance, but so-far so-good.

This was my first ever build, and I gotta say this was an amazing experience for me.
I owned a lot of guitars over the years, but there is something special about making something your own.
In this case, I grabbed a replacement flame maple neck (which thankfully fits almost perfectly), switched out the control plate for a traditional tele style, and make my own pickguard out of some veneered plywood.
