I haven't built a kit guitar for about 2 years. I build a guitar for my grand children for there 8th birthday ( plus a few others for my self). I purchased this kit for the Maghogany body. Was disappointed, Accepted the 4 piece body, unfortunately I'm not too sure which, if any is maghogany. The neck appeares good and am finishing it with G96 gunstock oil, with out a stain. The body is stained with Pyrrole Red ink. This is something like the colour used by Gibson on there SG. I would have liked to see the wood better, but, hey, it still works. Took a pic of the body and neck, unfortunately I can't load them on to the computer.
This will not be the best guitar I've made, Haven't spent the time sanding like I usually do. Will post photos when I figure this computer ou,
Great kit, high quality
Had a blast building my first guitar. Only gripe is the wiring digram is not best with zero colours but managed to get there in the end.
Very effecient delivery
Finish is very good
Great Kit and lovely guitar. I finished in the classic dark red and poly finish. One note to Blackbeardsden. Please actually list the stains etc you sell on the shop as items. If I had known that I would have bought red stain powder, but its not easy to find on your site. I found it via a google link after the fact so I had to find an alternative paint. Guitar is still curing so no photos to link yet. I added my own full size pots, gibson thick wires and my own pickups. So can’t comment on those that come with the kit. The rest of the hardware looks decent and high quality, very similar to the Les Paul kit which is great.
Got the kit for my birthday, and I have to say, I was very impressed by the build quality. The body and neck are well constructed and feel solid, and the electronics were pre-soldered and assembled, barring the pickups, which was awesome. Can't recommend this kit enough, it sounds amazing, and came out beautifully (looking past some mistakes in the finish which was entirely my fault).
